    Moana

Shila said:  Moana features top children’s songs written by Lin-Manuel Miranda that are enjoyable to hear throughout the movie. Taking place around the islands of Hawaii and Polynesia, a teenage girl set sails the powerful ocean waves to save her people from legends of doom.

    Toy Story

Shila said:  All ages, from baby to grandparent, seem to love Toy Story which makes it one of best Disney movies of all time for us. It's a story about how childhood toys come to life when you aren't looking.

This series has become so popular, there is an 11-acre theme park at Disney's Hollywood Studios in its name.

    Tangled

Shila said:  We love Tangled, the updated and "untold" story of Rapunzel and her hilarious, self-assured guide Flynn Rider. After 18 years locked up in captivity, Rapunzel finally runs away. Inspired by this 200+ year old fairy tale, our kids love how assertive and resourceful Rapunzel is while saving herself.

    Frozen

Shila said:  Frozen is considered one of the best Disney movies of all time for many reasons, whether it be for its Grammy-winning songs or the groundbreaking storylines. For our family, we loved Frozen because it's an epic story of two sisters and their unbreakable true love for each other.

    Beauty and the Beast

Shila said:  Even though my kids were afraid of Beast at first, Beauty and the Beast still rounds the top for one the best Disney movies of all time in our house. It has also been a useful teaching tool! For one, we reference how beauty on the inside is more important than how you look on the outside. And second, girls who read books are cool!

    Aladdin

Shila said:  A good conversation starter for kids is always, "if you had 3 wishes, what would they be?" That is what a magical genie awards a charismatic boy in Disney's Aladdin! So much of the comedy, too, is provided by the late Robin Williams who lends his talented voice to Genie.

    Coco

Shila said:  Disney/Pixar's Coco celebrates the beauty of Los Dios De Muertos / The Day Of The Dead. This is the story of a passionate young boy who aspires to be a musician, set in the vibrant scenes of a fascinating afterlife.

    Finding Nemo

Shila said:  Set in the Pacific oceans near Australia, a little clown fish named Nemo and his dad show audiences how to balance curiosity with caution - and courage! Nemo goes swimming one day and is picked up by a fisherman. His dad and a companion fish named Dori (voiced by Ellen DeGeneres) go to the greatest depths to try and bring him back.

    The Little Mermaid

Shila said:  The Little Mermaid is about a 16-year old mermaid under the sea who dreams of having two legs - and being human! After one last argument with her merman dad, she swims away to strike a deal with a magical yet evil sea witch to make it happen.

    The Lion King

Shila said:  This is a classic Disney movie set in the African safari starring wild and lovable animals coexisting in harmony, of course still privy to the "circle of life." A young lion cub named Simba battles his evil uncle to overthrow a fraudulent ownership of Pride Rock.

Older kids who have outgrown Disney "princesses" but still enjoy the magical tales of animated Disney films with catchy songs can especially appreciate this one.

    Wreck-It Ralph

Kelly R. said:  Tired of being the bad guy, video game character Wreck-It Ralph wants to claim some of the glory and show that he can be a hero, too. The movie is filled with small details and hidden references that make it really fun for kids and adults alike, and worthy of repeat viewings.

    Monsters, Inc.

Katie G. said:  Definitely a family favorite in our house, Monsters, Inc. follow the lives of two monsters, Mike and Sulley, who are employed at Monsters, Inc., a company that is powered by scares from children. One day they discover a scare door has been left open and a small child, Boo, has entered the scare floor. Follow the adventures of Mike and Sulley as they try to bring Boo back home and the obstacles they encounter along the way.

    The Incredibles

Sarah C. said:  This is a funny movie about superheroes. It tells the story of Elastigirl and Mr. Incredible and their children Violet, Dash and Jack-Jack as they use their superpowers to fight crime. Incredible has super-strength, Elastigirl has body elasticity, Violet has invisibility and force fields, Dash has super speed, and baby Jack-Jack has many different powers seen in The Incredibles and Jack-Jack Attack. The Supers are mostly engaged in fighting crime by keeping secret identities. Great for any age!

    WALL-E

Michael Farina said:  This 2008 Pixar gem is perfect for a family movie night. The kids will love the cute robot's antics. The grown-ups will love the in-jokes and asides. Aspiring artsy teens will love the long stretches without dialogue, and the dystopian future, which is shown in just enough detail to be heartbreaking to mature audiences, while remaining completely over-the-heads of littles.

    Robin Hood

Kelly R. said:  Disney's version of Robin Hood shines with all-animal characters, catchy tunes, and funny one-liners. One of my nostalgic favorites that my kids ended up loving, too.
