What age should a kid get a phone?

My oldest was about 5 when her father got her a cellphone( with my permission ofc) but she really didnt use it until she was older. I decided to get her an iPhone when she was about 8( she is 10yrs old now) which has worked out because she's very responsible and she understands there are rules and consequences.

Should I tell my 6 yr old his biological mom passed

First let me say this is beautiful that you stepped up to adopt him! Secondly your his mom in which you know him best and what is best for him. If you truly feel in your heart that he should know now I would say go for it but maybe have others around for support for both of you. With him being so young it may also be a lot better to wait until he is older and can fully grasp such big news( both adoption and death of mother). Children also handle things soooo much differently than we do as adults so its something to really pray on and think about. Sending prayers, love, and hugs to you guys <3

Does your family do "Elf on the Shelf"?

Now I do not have the "original" Elf on The Shelf but I do have a plush like Elf on The Shelf that I usually just set out for decorations every year but I think I am going to start using that one to do the deeds.. if you know what I mean lol ;)

Do you wash your kids' new clothes before they wear them?

Sometimes. It really depends on where I purchased them from honestly.

Do you open gifts at a birthday party?

Though I have done it both ways in which I feel waiting until after the party is SOOOOO much easier and alot more calmer, I kind of enjoy opening at the party that way the guest can see the excitement and feel the appreciation of their gift.

How old should kids be to go trick or treating on their own?

I would trust my 11/12yr old but with everything going on now and days this is kind of a scary thought. I just dont feel like its as safe as it use to be.

Do you reuse your older kids' Halloween costumes for your younger kids?

I let my children pick out a new costume every year but we save the older ones for "play clothes".

Will you let your kids use social media?

While all my children(ages 9,6, and 4) have tablets I refuse for them to have social media right now. My oldest does have a cell phone as well but the most she is allowed is Tiktok(child account and monitored ofc). I'm not sure if I will ever allow them to use social media such as Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter due to how much they could actually be exposed to.

How many loads of laundry do you wash per week?

I usually try to do laundry every other week(as much as I despise it) but we all know as moms there is always a chance it turns to into almost everyday. Between my work scrubs and the kids sports stuff it feels like I do laundry everyday *rolls eyes*

Do you purchase your child's class picture every year?

I make sure to at least purchase a small package or digital package so I am able to look back on the memories or their growth for each year. I do the same with their sports

Where can you get the best deals for school supplies?

Though I did find backpacks on Amazon this year at some good prices, I even got a protection plan on one of them in case it needs to be replaced.
