How much do you spend on teachers gifts for the holidays?

When we only had one classroom teacher, I spent around $25 to $30. The older they get the more teachers they have! It's around $10-$20 now. But, I also do something small for them when they start school, sometimes my daughter just bakes and brings in treats to her teachers, we get them something at valentine's day, teacher appreciation week and then I'll spend a little extra at the end of the year, maybe another $10-$20. Teachers are appreciativeof anything that shows you know how hard they are working! Have the younger ones make a picture and say their favorite thing about their teacher or even just school supplies that often times teachers are supplimenting with their own money!

Did your birthday child ever ask for donations instead of gifts?

I love this idea though we've never done it. As they are older, I'm trying to encourage that, but we don't have friend parties much anymore. Most of the time now, they get stuff they need for dance/baseball/clothes/their room or gift cards!!

Lately my 3y/o never wants dinner, she eats great all day but come dinner she doesn’t want, HELP!!!

Is she eating a snack too late where she's not hungry at dinner? I kind of followed the if they are hungry, they'll eat. If they didn't eat dinner, there's nothing else. If they say they are hungry, they get what was for dinner. I always try to have something that I know they'll like though so they'll eat a bit. My kids are older now though and they are just picky so it's what's for dinner or nada!

What age is appropriate for the puberty talk?

I've always been open with my kids about stuff but only gave them what they needed to know at that age. My daughter has asked questions because she sees what goes on with me and about the feminie products and she's 10. My son knows too because I think it's important for him to be sensitive to what women go through! He started asking questions at around 10 maybe. But, he's so private and quiet, if ask if he's having things change (outside of the voice that I can here) he gets all red and doesn't answer.

Do you stick to your usual bed time and routine when on vacation?

When they were younger, I let them stay up late, though not past 10. as preteen/teen they stay up with us, unless they want to go to bed.

Have you ever used a child leash?

We never did with either of our kids but they were generally good with stay with us. I would not have been against it though if I needed it!

At what age do you stop reading bedtime stories?

My kids read to themselves now but they are 10 and 13. My daughter (10) and I will read a chapter book together when our schedules slow down in May. But, I do make my kids read before they go to bed.
