Head out the the Trailside Museum of Natural History to learn all about maple syrup! You'll go on a short hike, tap a tree, and of course, get to taste both freshly tapped sap and finished syrup. Registration required.

If you are up near Wrigley Field (or even if you're not, it's worth it!) be sure to check out D'Agostino's! This in my top two places for Chicago deep dish pizza. D'Agostino's is a neighborhood place so it's not a busy as some of the touristy places downtown and it is really really delicious. The tomato sauce is fresh & light, the cheese is abundant, the crust is buttery, and the topping are generous. Did I mention how much I love this pizza?

I love high tea at the Virgin Hotel! It is super fun and is a refreshingly modern take on traditional high tea! Know as their "Upside Down Tea Party," tea service comes with sweet and savory treats and, of course, your choice of tea. You can add on a glass of bubbly to make your afternoon even more festive :) This is the perfect way to treat out of town guests (or yourself!) to a unique and memorable afternoon. Sugar Fixe offers breakfast pastries, tarts, cookies, cupcakes, little dessert cakes, pastries, macarons and celebration cakes. I'm proud to say that I've tried almost all their sweets and everything has been perfection -- especially the macarons!! Their location is bright, the coffee is great, and the seats are comfy.
