Shila said:  The original Jurassic Park is a classic though its sequels turned into quite the movie franchise, too. The first film introduced the audience to genetically engineering real life dinosaurs back from extinction and housing them on a remote island for exhibition. These terrifying dinosaurs also bring non-stop suspense to movie night.

Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman are memorable as Matilda's ridiculous parents. This is an adaptation of the Roald Dahl book, which my kids also enjoyed.

Alexandra F. said:  This iconic Tom Cruise action thriller was a huge hit when we watched it for family movie night with our 12 & 15-year-olds, and we soon made our way through all of the sequels. (The second was the only one that fell flat, the rest were all winners.) The action can be pretty intense, with explosions, knife fights, gunfire and the like, but the camera usually cuts away before the violence gets graphic, and the stunts are incredible. It'd be worth previewing with your kid in mind, but it's an awesome action movie for tweens and teens that parents will enjoy watching just as much.

Kelly R. said:  The Mighty Ducks is one of the few 90s movies for kids that has made it into our family movie night rotation more than once over the years. As a community service assignment, a lawyer has to coach a rough-around-the-edges bunch of kids on a pee wee hockey team.
